Sources
Your chatbot's intelligence and ability to answer questions are powered by the sources you provide. Think of sources as the foundation of your chatbot's knowledge. They are vital to ensuring your bot delivers accurate and relevant responses to user queries.
Sources are repositories of information that your chatbot taps into. When a user poses a question, your bot sifts through the content in your sources to find the most appropriate answer.
Types of Sources
Currently, getchat supports two primary types of sources:
Website Sources:
If you have a website, this is where your chatbot will derive much of its knowledge. We download your website and extract relevant content from it.
Upon setting up your bot, simply provide your website's URL. Our system will then initiate a crawler that automatically creates a website source for every discoverable page.
Static Sources:
These are manually added text sources. They are particularly useful for feeding your bot specific knowledge about your company or topics that might not be readily available on your website.
Think of them as your bot's internal FAQs or a repository of niche knowledge.
Why Are Sources Important?
Sources are the backbone of your chatbot's knowledge. By meticulously choosing and managing your sources, you ensure that your bot is:
- Accurate: By pulling from reliable and up-to-date sources, your bot's responses will be more precise.
- Relevant: By curating content relevant to your business and users, the bot can provide more meaningful interactions.
- Efficient: Streamlined and organized sources lead to quicker response times and better user satisfaction.
